  Thanks, Bob.....................you just made me recall so vividly handling one of those thick slices of shellac, carefully placing it on the turntable and lifting the tone arm to put it down on the whirling record, hearing the slight hiss of needle in groove, and then those glorious sounds of Armstrong or Bunny or Benny filling the speaker.
