[Dixielandjazz] Without My Walkin' Stick

The only recording I have is Bernie Cummins, 5/21/30; composer credit is
"Body". (Timeless CD CBC 1-058 "Bernie Cummins and his Orchestra
1024-1930) Basically a novelty vocal, with several verses having nothing
to do with the title theme, and a commonplace (what I call "doggerel")
melody. IMHO not worth bothering with, consider all the really good
novelties out there.
The record is kind of fun, though, in a rather Weemsian vein.

Pat Ladd: this particular record doesn't suggest (to me) any gospelish
origin, other than the "sins" bit.

Hopefully one of these days I'll find out about that rock'n'roll version I
cited earlier...
