Steve,

I did not miss the point.

The point that you, yourself  seem to have missed is that I am speaking in
general about pro musicians and their conduct -- not about you.

Perhaps because you were out of the musician work force for so many years,
you are not aware of some of the practices that sidemen have.

Your situation is obviously great.  You have worked hard to create it.
However, if you re-read my post, I am not talking about you.

Sure, circulating around the club, talking and thanking customers for coming
is obviously what musicians should do.

However, doing this to obviously solicite drinks or hit on the guys
girlfriend or wife, is a no-no.

Chatting up the host is good.  Being intrusive or boorish is bad news.

Mixing with his guests (when it is not appropriate) is bad news.

As you say, etc. etc. etc.

Yes, there are always exceptions.  However, for the final and last time, I
am speaking in general about musician's conduct as a whole.
