[Dixielandjazz] Band Costumes

Hi Vickye:

I tried that several times with my band but it never worked well, you 
see we wear Red White and Blue Sneakers with our Tuxedo outfits, and 
often Purple Aussie hats as well  and we also mix and match colors of 
trousers to keep em guessing too:))   But always colorful for the media 
camera's and color photos in the press. :))

Yep my guys fought me in the beginning too, until  they first show they 
wore them and were featured on International Television, then I 
couldn't hardly get them to take them off.


So it works for some bands and others not as well, all depends upon the 
style and the gig and venue and the band, so of course I don't 
disrespect anybody who does or does not wear uniforms, or not,  But 
they do work for me and my shows, and ours are also chosen for comfort 
as well.

   Dress apparel seems to be just another one of those things that each 
band
   must decide for themselves.  The gig will demand of you what is 
required.
  When you are wrong about your choice, you will feel it, and try make a
  better choice next time.

   Same goes for the style of music we all choose to play, the type of 
gigs we
   choose to play, even the way we wish to promote our own music.  To 
each his
  own.

   It is interesting, of course, to hear what others think, but not to 
the
  point of any one choice being the "right one"!
