[Dixielandjazz] Dr. Jazz at the Jerusalem Theatre

Hello,
Just got home from Jerusalem, where I went to hear listmate Larry's
band (the gig about which he had just written - I had to go back to
Raanana, some 1and a half hour's drive). While arriving we heard some
swinging sounds - Larry with two others. at first I thought they had
synthesized rhythm, but it was just the "dreaded clang" - very good.
The line-up did not look very promising - no reeds, just a trumpet, a
"marching trombone" (something that might have look like a flugelhorn,
but was not) and a banjo - and swinging! Larry then switched to tuba,
then - cornet, then - washboard, which he played with a spoon (as he
explained - no time to put thimbles on, as he had to play all those
instruments). Larry also sang.
It was fun (and now, as it's 00:30 AM, I'm going to bed).
Cheers,
Marek
