[Dixielandjazz] Correcting a big oops!

Big Oops!
When I wrote about transcribing in a reply to a post, my brain farted on 
me and I misspoke myself. I meant to say Bill Challis transcribed the 
Bix Piano Suite,
not Paul Mertz. The quote about Bill having trouble getting Bix to play 
it a second time without composing new stuff before he coul get the 
first version down was correct except that it was told to me by Paul 
Mertz as told to him by Challis. He was at Bix Fest when he sat in with 
our old Jack Pines Savages, and related it as Challis had told him about 
it. (They were contemporaries at the time in NY..)
It was also Challis that arranged  the guitar version by the Pizzarelli 
clan.
Just credit it  to  my aging brain and sagging inertia. Being stupid is 
not hard - I do it several times a day. But don't we all? Don't answer 
that -- lurkers are readinge very word and taking notes!!
