Hello Dave,
How about?
"Down at Poppa Joes" (maybe Starline Rhythym Band))
"Act Naturally" (Sung by Ringo Starr)
"Don't Pass Me By" (Sung and written by Ringo)
"Octopus' Garden" " " "
"Lady Godiva" (Peter and Gordon)
"Mellow Yellow" (Donovan)
"Well Respected Man" (The Kinks)
"Daydream" (Lov'in Spoonful"
"Little Red Ridding Hood" (Sam the Sham")
"Mother's Little Helper" (Rolling Stones)
These are a few that come to mind from the sixties and there are many others.
They all have some stylistic elements of Dixie, though most were produced
with as much of a rock feel as possible.
I'm hoping that if you produce another project after 20's and 30's, it might
be for the 50's and 60's. That music is going though its aging process and
will soon be lamented by many as deceased and kept alive by a few.
Regards,
Gus Bloch
