[Dixielandjazz] Condon & Watters?

I recently received a scan of a Hambone Kelly's advert for Halloween 
1948, indicating the two bands featured were Watters' and Eddie 
Condon's.  Is my memory going, or did Condon actually condescend to play 
at an overtly "Frisco" establishment -- Lu's, yet?,
