Dear Sheik,
You are so right!
We have been caught out several times.
I now  make sure/shure that our musicians don't stand near the Shure 58
vocal/clarinet mic (and unknowingly share jokes and anecdotes with the pub
audience) during band breaks at our regular Sunday afternoon gig.
