[Dixielandjazz] Horizontal Washboard

The link provided by Steve Barbone at http://www.djangobirdland.com/flv/index.htm for the 2004 Django Festival at Birdland in NYC was fascinating. The horizontal washboard as played was outstanding, but raises the question: "When does it stop being a washboard and begin being a drum?" (Is that a sentence?). In any event, this player seems more like a drummer to me than a washboardist. Maybe it's just that his technique was so good!!

The guitarist was also very good, but IMO,Josco Stephan has better fundamentals and technique.
