Tom Saunders usually does play bass sax with the Jazz Vipers, but not this summer -- he's going to be doing a Josephine Baker show in Paris from mid-June until August.  Lucky dog!
 
The usual lineup for the band is:
Joe Braun, alto sax
Nettie Vaan, violin
John Rodli, guitar
Robert Snow, string bass
Charlie Fardella, trumpet
Tom Saunders, bass sax
Bruce Brackman, clarinet
 
This band really packs in the swing dancers; unfortunately, their normal venue only has room for 2 couples on the floor at a time.  Once there were three couples jammed onto the floor, and I got a fractured bone in my foot from an overenthusiastic Lindy hopper (not my partner).  I can only imagine how crazy it will be on the Midsummer Night's Swing dance floor!
