One other thing is that you can find great turntables and 
amplifier/recivers on ebay for you will pardon the expression "for a 
song." I bought a beautiful direct drive Pioneer turntable for  around 
$30 and have it hooked up to a 18 watt Radio Shack reciever that is very 
small but pushes that phono output stage like a champ.
