Hi John,
  All you need is Sound Studio and iTunes. You run a lead to the Mac 
sound input and record to Sound Studio then save an Aiff file. That can 
go into iTunes which will Burn a Cd when you have enough tunes. That 
works for me. You can get Sound Studio via Google, but it came with my 
Mac (OSx)
