[Dixielandjazz] Public Liability

One of the venues that I work every so often tried to require us to get a 
liability policy.  The upshot was no one would play for them.  There aren't 
a whole lot of Dixie bands here and word got around pretty fast.  With no 
one willing to work for them they quietly but quickly dropped their policy.

Am I missing something or is the Public Liability Ins. requirmenet for a 
band unique
to Australia? What kind of thing is it supposed to cover? Is there anything 
like it
required in the US of A?
