brass instruments list-members prefer.


Ivan,I personally believe that a horn is just an extension of your body,
particularly your mouth & of course your breathing.  Therefore, while it is
interesting to know what others prefer, there is nothing like trying the
horn out for yourself.  Same goes with mouthpieces.

Another factor to figure in is how each person plays or wishes to play.  As
there are so many different personal styles, there are going to be many
different likes for horns & mouthpieces.

Over the years, I've found some musicians that just can't stop trying out
horns & mouthpieces, and discussing the values of each every chance they
get.  (Hint to those that like to talk to band members on breaks....choose
any other subject then that one!)

Obviously, things like weight, slide or valve action, etc., are interesting
things to hear about.
