I also found in my archive, a Tommy Dorsey recording of Maple Leaf that is
insanely fast. I clocked it on my metronome at 270 bpm! (no chance to swing
at that tempo and the natural syncopations lose their charm) Why did they
do it that fast? My guess is, just to prove they could.
