As an addition to the current discussion of Mr Dorsey, there is a wonderful  
documentary that won several awards that revolves around him titled "Say Amen  
Somebody"  It is a history of black gospel music and is full of those  
stirring songs.  I purchased the DVD from Amazon a couple of years  ago.  If you 
care at all about gospel music, this a DVD that you will watch  more than once.  
It does cover his early years with him commenting on those  days when he was a 
jazz performer.
