A lovely tune indeed . . . .The real story behind Glenn Miller's
"Demise" is that the song was originally written in the key of D
double sharp, and Glenn (which he himself, standing next to Elvis, told
me in a dream) loathed the fact that people often insisted on calling
it "key of E", which he considered to be one of them damned cowboy
singing keys.
Least known of all is that the tune was originally called "Denise",
but a drop of moisture from his mouthpiece which he accidently placed
on the ink-written title caused the "n" to run and look like an "m" to
the person setting the type. He wrote this tune and named it "Denise"
after one of his favorite gals in the brothel which he frequented. The
truly bitter end of this tale of woe is that, because of the printing
error, Denise never received a dime of royalties from the song, and
wait - - -even worse, she died , ironically enough, which Glenn's plane
crashed into the very boat she was taking across the channel to meet
Glenn when she landed. [Because she always called him Glen, with one
"n", he purposely titled the tune Denise with one "n", though her real
name was Dennise . .their own little private joke]

You don't eat enough,you don't drink enough,
and you exercise way too much - -eat dessert first!
