Hello all
Those looking for a sexual connotation in this title are on the right
track. The explanation is a bit complicated though.
The usually reliable "Tell your story" by Eric Townley (Storyville, 1976)
gives us:
"Among Southern rural Negroes, 'see see' was the same as 'easy' and early
blues men would refer to the guitar as 'easy rider', derived partly from
the instrument being carried by a strap across the back. From the imagery
of the femine-shaped guitar, the term 'see see' or 'easy rider' came to
mean a female lover and then a sexually satisfying lover of either sex, and
is used as such in almost all blues references."
All the best
Anton
