Talking of rhyming and pronunciation. I have a recording of the Pasadena Roof Orchestra playing I Can't Dance and the singer insists on using the long a in dance (more like darnce) which doesn't rhyme with pants as in :- I can't dance, I've got ants in my pants This always annoys me Andy Ling
