[Dixielandjazz] John Brown's Body

In February 1862 "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" was first published in
the magazine "Atlantic Monthly". (lyric: Julia Ward Howe.
This song was originally, and still is known as "John Brown's Body"
It was not about the John Brown who "led" the raid on the Harper's Ferry
Armoury but one Sergent John Brown of a Massachusetts militia outfit.
It is said to have been sung by the 12th Massachusetts Regiment as they
marched down Broadway on 24 July 1861.

I just thought I would post this as something that happened this month a few
years ago.
I thought it would be a change from taxes.
