Hi Bill:
Good Post, and some of us did read it and did not miss the point, even
if we got suckered into commenting on only one aspect of it. Sorry
about that. This subject indeed deserves deeper and longer attention
spans, which are often not functional on this great list of often
contankerous folks.
My Daddy once told me to " Never try to teach a Pig to sing" "You will
only frustrate yourself and annoy the Pig"
I sure wish I had paid more attention to that good advise:
Hence, I will not belabor this worthy subject upon these hallowed pages
lest I PISS off the two or three remaining friends I have made here.
:))
That is why the Ken Burns series generated so much interest and gave
Jazz a another long over due and needed, shot in the arm, there was no
good new music coming, so it was time indeed to go back and visit the
roots and start it all over again. Too bad so many missed the whole
idea. Fortunately some of us did not and are enjoying the results and
playing to bigger and younger audiences all the time. There is life
after Geritol and before it too if you go look for it. :))
I gotta go finish writing my new hit OKOM song, "Viagra Boogie"
Just watched the disgusting parade of no talent auditions on American
Idol, That alone explains your post.
Maybe the IAJE could start a show like that so we could see all the
great Musicians they have turned out in the past forty years.
Cheers, It's your turn lad , give em Hell.
Tom Wiggins
