Bill, Thank you for the wonderful Christmas gift to my ears. Jack Wiard's
"Hold My Hand" is superb! I love all Power's You Tube tracks. Really, really
enjoyed At the Jazz Band Ball too for example. Now I'm sitting here wishing
I had known to get in my car and drive up to Davenport for the 2005 Bix
Festival---drats! drats! drats!. Thanks also for the names of rest of the
group--I was trying to find those on YouTube the other night.
Ginny
P.S. I have also heard the angels message translated as: "Peace among men of
good will". That makes it a heck of lot harder to accomplish. Too often I
find it quite a challenge to keep my own peace and good will going even for
24 hours. :>)

Dear friends,
A few days ago I mentioned the <youtube.com> feature version of "Hold My
Hand" played by ex [like 30-something years ago!] Lodi, CA clarinet player
Jack Wiard as a member Geoff Power's Classic Jazz group at the 2005 Bix
Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival in Davenport, Iowa, US.
Jack informed me on Saturday that other items by the full band have been
loaded onto <youtube.com> by Geoff.
Sho'nuff. You can now watch and listen to full versions of "Rose Room",
"King Chanticleer", "Buddy's Habit", "My Pretty Girl", "At The Jazz Band
Ball","I've Got A Right to Sing The Blues" plus "Hold My Hand" with Aussies
Geoff Power, cornet & trombone; Jack Wiard, clarinet; Paul Baker, banjo; Jim
Elliott, bass sax and young Davenport drummer/washboard player Josh Duffee.
Just open up the <youtube> site, find the 'Search' panel, enter <Geoff
Power> and then hit <Search>
Well worth downloading for a look 'n' listen.
Kind regards,
Bill.
PS: By coincidence [truly] Geoff Power called into our regular Fortune of
War Hotel job yesterday [Sunday] afternoon and sat in with us (Jack Wiard,
Sunni Suzuki, Cliff Parsons, Tim Brosnan and me) for a bracket. He was
having a rest in between his own two nearby gigs.
PPS: A Happy Holyday to y'all.
As the angels [according to a bloke called Luke] said a thousand-plus years
ago, on the day 'The Man' was born, ".....and on earth peace, good will
toward men."
A pity most earthmen have never bothered to heed them.
Bill.
