Hi Don:

I have to agree with Mad Dawg and you on this one, and to take it one 
step further,  I suggest that Everyone gets out and sees and hears Tony 
Bennett as soon as you can get a ticket ( if you can get one)   I 
watched him the other night on TV, and while YES he can and still does 
Swing, he is 80 years young and it will simply not last, signs are 
there that he is beginning to fade a bit, and I personally want to 
enjoy him while he is not over the Hill far enough to be noticeable by 
everyone.   What a marvelous human being and performer, and I am proud 
to have enjoyed him for soo many years.    And all those singers doing 
the duets with him should and probably do, feel truly Blessed for 
having the opportunity to do so.    I saw three with him on Ophra that 
genuinely did and said so in public,  Good on them and I hope they too 
are fortunate enough to last and sing as long as Tony.     Swing on 
Tony My Man!!

   I think Mad Dawg nailed it regarding celebrity/musicians.  In my
previous post I mentioned seeing Sinatra.  I knew going in that he was
over the hill, but I wanted to be able to say I'd seen him.  Turns out 
I
really enjoyed the show, even though Frank at that point had large 
video
monitors on stage with the words, he could still deliver a song.  
Having
a swinging big band backing him didn't hurt either.

To clarify my comments about Streisand, I've always recognized she has
enormous talent, and is very good at what she does.  I just don't 
happen
to like what she does, and politics has nothing to do with it.  So
celebrity or not, I have no desire to see her.
