Dave was a wonderful drummer.  I had the pleasure of working with him many 
times.

Most notable was when Jim Beebe and I put together the Bob Scobey Frisco 
Band
 (Reunion Band) for the Los Angeles Classic Jazz Festival, September 2-5, 
1988 and for the
Big Horn Jazz Festival, Chicago February 17-19, 1989.
