Has anyone ever tried, as a joke on the audience, the old ploy of Victor Borge, by saying at some point, "Now the next number is a number during which most people cough..."?  It'll probably always remain my favorite moment on all my Borge records, when he says this, and wave after wave of coughing arises from a distinctly embarrassed audience that knows it just proved the power of suggestion...,
