[Dixielandjazz] Unusual Gigs

Dear List Mates,

An STJS board member has made a suggestion for a new column in our
newsletter. He thought it might be interesting to print "Unusual Gigs." He
said there are hundreds of musicians that have tons of war stories. The idea
came to him when he received 24 hr notice to put a quartet together. The
group arrived at the designated address (on a hot Saturday afternoon in
tuxes) only to find it a house for rent.

I've seen many such posts over the years on DJML, so if you wish to submit
them for possible publication in the STJS newsletter, please send them to me
directly or post them for the entire list to enjoy (or groan and cringe at)
reading.

This heat wave in the U.S. might ignite a few memories of past gigs, eh?
