Anybody play this Festival, or the one in Kuwait? I bet musicians don't have
trouble getting into these countries.

Bahrain gearing up for All That Jazz

JAZZ fans get set for the region's first music festival dedicated to the
genre. All that jazz will be coming Bahrain's way, with the Diplomat
Radisson SAS Hotel's Al Fanar Supper Club as the host of the First Gulf Jazz
Festival between April 28 and 30.

The Diplomat Radisson SAS, in association with Witold Wnuk, the man behind
the nine successful Kuwait Jazz Festivals, brings a treat for jazz
enthusiasts and music lovers in Bahrain with this festival.

The festival is being held first in Kuwait on April 26 and 27, but will be
in Bahrain from April 28.

The line-up of the international jazz stars promises to provide varied
rendition of the genre every evening.

April 28, the opening night, has the top Scandinavian Sveriges Jazz Band
with their Dixieland jazz, the traditional music that originated in the
streets and alleys of New Orleans, US.

This sextet is renowned as a touring band that has played at major metros
and jazz festivals

April 29 stars Adam Makawicz, the renowned American pianist virtuoso, also
known in jazz circles as the Magician of the Keyboard, holds the honour of
being awarded Europe's number one jazz artist for six consecutive years with
26 albums to his credit. The New York Daily Post described him as the
"spectacular jazz pianist". Adam will transport the audience into a magical
night of beauty, warmth and joy as he weaves his spell with his fingers on
the piano.

April 30, the closing night, will feature the American vocalist, pianist and
composer Karen Edwards with Jarek Smietana, the Polish guitarist who is
Adam's equivalent on the strings.

Karen, Jarek and his trio have now been performing together for years across
the world, providing fantastic odysseys into adventurous jazz. Together,
they'll set the night ablaze with relentless music magic. The doors open
every evening at 8pm and the tickets are BD18 inclusive of pre-dinner or
BD10 for the concert only.

Tickets are available at Fiddlers Green Irish Pub at the Diplomat Radisson
SAS between 12noon and 1am daily. For more information, contact the hotel on
17531666 or e-mail reservations.Bahrain at radissonsas.com.
