One of the other list members embarrassed me by actually going to
www.firststreetonline.com and checking ALL the info on the Phono/CD
recorder AG-4071 used to put your old recordings on CD "painlessly",
and without tying up your main computer. Use this unit while you surf or
write comments on the recordings to the DJML. Play them while you drive
on your car player. It is NOT a mini unit. Desk top unit. A true black
box.

It turns out it IS a name brand. TEAC and there are indeed audio input
jacks on the back so you can make CD's from your old cassette tapes
too. Providing any of you are willing to admit you own cassettes as
well as vintage 78's and hard to find LP's. If you are a professional
sound person, you will probably not be impressed. Here is their FAQ's

    FAQs

What are the 3 speeds of the turntable?
33-1/3 rpm, 45 rpm, and 78 rpm

What kind of CDs may I record onto?
Recording can take place on any CD-R/RW that is not for computer use,
such as Verbatim. Maxell or a name brand like it should be perfectly fine.

(I.E. blank CD's clearly marked MUSIC CD's, not just data CD's.)

What type of record stylus is used, and where do I get a new one when
needed?
The cartridge/stylus is ceramic: style #STL-153. When you need a new
one, you can contact (800) 447-TEAC for the nearest authorized repair
company that can replace the stylus for you.

Some suppression of hiss etc.

Are there any audio/video inputs or outputs?
A set of audio inputs is provided at the rear of the unit.

For plugging in cassette decks etc. Level controls on the front. for all.

Shuffle play or 32 memory for CD's.

What do you want for $399? Down $100 from the original price.

PS This is not an advertisement or endorsement. I have not tried it,
having my own similar gear. Periodically members ask how to put their
records on CD. This is one solution at a "reasonable" price.
