Let's not poo poo sports completely here. Remember how linked sport and
music are. Everyone has heard Ella sing "A Tisket, A Tasket, That Blue
and Gold Basket." And, Jockitch Pastorious was arguably the best bass
player ever. Note that American football is a game of measures often
viewed in bars. And, water polo is played in the principal ingredient
of beer which a lot of musicians drink.
There are tons of songs written about/for sport too. Just to name a few :
Ace In the Hole (golf)
At The Basket Ball
I'm Putting All My Shots In One Basket
Halfback in Your Own Back Yard
Yardline Suite
Net Marmalade (tennis)
Net Chop Suey (tennis)
I'm Out Of Bounds 'Round The Mason Dixon Line
When You Slam Dunk A Doughnut
As Overtime Goes By
Call Timeout And Get Under The Moon
Huddle Up A Little Closer
Quarterback Bay Blues
Ok, enough of this silliness.
All the best, Gary
