Dear John,
This was all discussed on the list in August this year.
It will be in the DJML archive. If you know how to access it.
Here are the words as transcribed by me from the Louis Armstrong record.
The Don Raye lyrics, added to Lil Hardin Armstrong's 1927 tune in 1941
differ slightly and were also mentioned in the previous posts.
We are about to go out to see the new Wallace & Gromit film.
Back in about 4 hours.
If you need copies of the earlier info, I can post it all then.
Just let me know,
Kind regards,
Bill.

Struttin' With Some Barbecue

Struttin' with some barbecue
When you're with the band
Like the happy people do
Way down in Dixieland.
Hear that ole trom-bone
And the trumpet ad lib
Love to hear a lick while I do my pickin'
Pickin' on a juicy rib.
'Cause I'm struttin' with some barbecue
Feelin' mighty grand
Pass another helpin' please
Of that good ole dixieland
And Mr waiter, if you please
Another rib or two
And I'll go strut, strut, struttin
Struttin' with some barbecue.
