Dear Kaye,
It must have been an honour to work with the talented Bobby Sherwood
(1914-1981). A renowned guitarist who became Bing Crosby's accompanist
following the untimely death of Eddie Lang in 1933.
Multi-instrumentalist Mr Sherwood was a bandleader, arranger, a fine trumpet
player and occasional actor but was unfortunately not, as you claim, the
author of "A Hundred Years From Today".
This song was composed in 1933 by Victor Young with words by Ned Washington
for Lew Leslie's Broadway show 'Blackbirds of 1933' and was introduced in
the show by Kathryn Perry. It also made an appearance in the 1934 Jean
Harlow film 'Girl From Missouri'.
Kind regards,
Bill.
