As most DJMLers would naturally assume, Maynard Ferguson in not very high on
my jazz priority list.
(In fact he is not on it at all.)
Except for the 2-part Stan Kenton orch record of "Blues in Burlesque".
Made for Capitol on 20 Sept 1951, it is a feature for some 'Louis-inspired'
high-note screaming by Maynard and an exuberant 'blues' vocal by Shelly
Manne.
They were all having a ball!
