Dear friends,
My apologies for posting this information request.
The details are in my computer (somewhere), but I have just given up
trawling through the hundreds of variously-titled emails in my 'inbox' and
'deleted messages' files.
It seemed easier to ask the members of this great list.
Over the past few weeks we have received information regarding some reliable
organisations who have guaranteed that donated $$$s for destitute New
Orleans musicians will go directly to them and not be absorbed by admin
costs.
(There was one in the UK which sounded quite reliable.)
I need only the names of genuine groups who have specifically promised to
help the older, poorer more traditional style, non-union New Orleans jazz
musicians who have lost their livelihood, instruments and personal
possessions.
Currently there are Australian jazz musicians and enthusiasts planning NO
Relief events who have contacted me for advice.
We need the details of those charitable groups that have a safe and easy
method for the transfer of Australian funds.
