Just listened to a great Mosaic reissue, " The Complete Roulette Jack
Teagarden Sessions". Big T plays baritone on one magnificent cut; 'Ol Man
River. It is just super. There is an interesting picture of Jack playing
the baritone in the liner notes. The playing of Jack and his bandmates on
this collection of tunes is quite simply magnificent. Need it be said thant
I am an unabashed fan of Mr. Teagarden. The playing of all the members of
the band on these sides is superb. Don Goldie, trumpet. The peerless Don
Goldie. Don Ewell, piano. My, my. Mosaic recordes should be commended for
the work that they do. When I recieved the box set and read the notes,
found out that Jack was indeed playing the baritone horn, I became excited.
Not disappointed. Great stuff. See ya around; Roger
