Curious.  What is:

It's a coating on the molds that the records are formed in to facilitate them being removed from the mold. Most things that are molded use some sort of release agent to keep the molded material from adhering to the mold. If you go into any auto body paint/supply shop, you'll find mold release wax for making fiberglass pieces.  Same principle.
