Hello all

Dan reported (in part), re converting cps to Hz
>To do it mathematically, multiply the frequency in cycles per second by
cycles per second and then take the square root of the result<

Wow! And who said Americans don't have a sense of humour? :-)

But seriously, getting involved in the physics of tuning is enough to drive
one to distraction.

The A=440, middle C=261.626 relationship only applies to equal temperament
tuning. Using "baroque" temperament, it can be A=440, middle C=262.513 or
more realistically, A=415, middle C=247.598.

As they say in some circles, when the piano sounds fishy call for a tuna.

All the best
Anton
