Listmates: Once upon a time in my checkered past, I was a Physics teacher. My recollection (although I've had no need to use the information in years) is that middle C is 256 Hz., A above is 440 Hz., and C above middle C is 512 Hz. Each octave doubles or halves the frequency, depending upon which way you're going. --Dick Miller
