What instrument do you play & how old are you?
I'm currently doubling (tripling?) on clarinet, tenor sax, and piano. I've
also got a trumpet and guitar that I can play a little bit on, and a c-melody
sax that I'm fixing up at home. I'm 16. I've heard about that Sacramento youth
camp thing, but California is pretty far away. Transportation would be a
nightmare!

I'm sure there are some good bands around somewhere in the state, I didn't
mean it to be that sweeping of a statement. But we've got a lack of OKOM
compared to other places. I've gone to a couple local jazz performances, but I've
always been pretty disappointed with what I've heard. (P.S., Carol, I'll have to
check out the bands you've mentioned, because I haven't heard of them before.)

If I can ever find some other interested people, I plan on starting up a
band. I've got piles of sheet music and some charts, too.
