After working in the South for almost 40 years I can't begin to guess the number of times the band I was working with, was asked to play "Dixie".

Not a favorite tune for most of us "down here", so one day we decided to play it just a little different ! 

Ever try Dixie as a minor waltz ? Well, we had a lot of fun with it, as the people didn't have a clue what we were playing  it until we modulated in to the
major 2/4 !

Try it, you'll, maybe enjoy the change.

Maybe try "A Train" as a ballad.......but that's another story !
