Ed Danielson made comment about Birele Lagrene, French guitarist. There's
an anecdote that he traveled on a US tour with some guys who played country
& western. He was introduced on stage as "Billy Lee Green."

statement, but color of the tarps placed by FEMA on hurricane Ivan damaged
roofs)
Home of Pensacola JazzFest upcoming April 9-10 and featuring the famed
Boondockers. See website for details www.jazzpensacola.com ( blatant
commercial! in case you couldn't discern it on you own.)

Steve Barbone posted the schedule for Iridium, the New York nightclub, and
one of the acts was this:

May 11-15 BIRELI LAGRENE GYPSY JAZZ
A Tribute To Django Reinhardt

Lagrene is a French gypsy guitarist, prominent in fusion music circles, but
influenced by Django Reinhardt and quite capable of playing standards and
pre-bop music. His newest CD, "Move," sounds like Django-meets-Bechet... it
really swings!
