Hi, Dixieland Jazz Fans. This is a special announcment from
the Creole Dixieland Jazz Band from Springifield, Missouri.
(Removal instructions at bottom of message.)
GOOD NEWS
When we started playing every Sunday night at Arris' Pizza
in September, 1999, our purpose and goal was to help Arris'
become a well-known and popular restaurant in Springfield.
We achieved that goal years ago and have continued to have
great times every Sunday night at Arris', but now it is time
to move on. This past weekend, Sunday, February 27, 2005 was
our final performance at Arris'. We would like to thank Joe
and Tani Kremer and Gary Whorton for five and a half years
of fantastic Sunday night traditional jazz and wish them and
Arris' good luck in the future. Most of all, we want to thank
you, all the many fans, who have come out to support live traditional
jazz for so many years. We sincerely treasure the many friendships
we have developed. Without your support and commitment, the
Creole Band would not have become the band it is today. Furthermore,
Arris' would not be the success story that it is today. Thanks
so much! But we have even BETTER news...
EVEN BETTER NEWS
You can still hear us every MONDAY night at Joey's Only Seafood
Restaurant. Yes, if you haven't made it over to Joey's yet,
we sincerely hope you'll come do so NOW! We've played every
Monday for Joey's Only's "Mardi Gras Mondays" since June, 2003
and Joey's Only and the Creole Band are still going strong.
It has become a wonderful relationship between a hot, New Orleans-style
traditional jazz band and the fantastic food, service, and
atmosphere of Springfield's greatest seafood restaurant. Come
out Monday from 6-8 p.m. and have the best seafood in Springfield
served up cajun spiced, sauteed, battered, grilled, blackened,
or any way you like it. Mondays feature all you can eat gumbo
or jambalaya. Don't miss out!
YES, EVEN MORE GOOD NEWS
We spent a whole three and a half days without a Sunday night
gig but we're now excited to announce that beginning Sunday,
March 20, you can hear the band once again every Sunday from
5:30 till 7:30 at Mike's Place, 1717 E. Cherokee. Mike's Place
is just west of Glenstone on Cherokee one block south of Sunshine.
An establishment known for it's excellent food, intimate atmosphere,
and live jazz, Mike's Place is a spot you're going to enjoy
visiting on Sundays. The gang at Mike's Place is almost as
excited to have the Creole Dixieland Jazz Band as we are to
be playing there. Thank you, Mike and Nancy Lacey, for allowing
the Creole Band the opportunity to play at Mike's Place. Please
mark your calendar, everyone, and we'll see you March 20 at
Mike's Place.
STILL MORE GOOD NEWS
We are currently recording our third CD and expect a release
date sometime in the next two or three months. The current
band is a hot one and we are anxious to get this recording
wrapped up and in your hands. We are recording the CD live
at Joey's Only Seafood Restaurant every Monday night from 6:00
till 8:00. Come out and be part of the fun! See you Monday.
