[Dixielandjazz] The Nature of the DJML - Was Euro Jazz Chat List?

It seem as if the DJML is US centered. I guess because Americans post the
most and are not shy about controversy.

Personally, I would enjoy more participation via posting, by non-Americans.
Pat Ladd's recent post about Glen Miller's music was a fine example of
clearing the air about it, from a man who WAS THERE at the time.

Points out that many of us do not degrade Miller's Music, or Lombardo's, but
only the section parts in the musical charts. They are are so boring to
play. Big difference between the "parts" and the "whole".

Interesting that a non-American seems to see this more clearly than many of
us on the DJML who are Americans.

Come on, you folks in Europe. POST. Tell us about the vibrant OKOM scene in
Europe and your thoughts on why it is so vibrant. We Americans would surely
learn a thing or two.

We have much to learn even about guys from the past like Ray Noble, his
"Cherokee", and that beautiful bridge which confounded many OKOMers early
on.
