Dear Ed,
The Lombardo comment in Max Kaminsky's book 'My Life In Jazz' (1963. Harper
& Row) is:
"Like most young men who are ambitious or have a dream, I was terrified of
marriage. My mother would drop hints about eligible girls in the
neighbourhood, but I avoided them like a Guy Lombardo arrangement, and the
girls who company I frequented were not the ones you'd bring home to
mother."
