[Dixielandjazz] Jazz Waltzes?

The other night at the high roller re-opening bash of the Delaware Museum of
Natural History, we saw Ruly Carpenter coming in. He, and father before him,
used to own the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Team.

We broke into "Take Me Out To The Ball Game". In chorus as written (Waltz)
Second chorus in 4/4 Swing, Out chorus as a waltz again. Works just
wonderfully as a Dixieland Waltz. Or as a trio/quartet waltz. He's seen us
in various formats at about 10 parties now. Like ex-mayor, now Governor Ed
Rendell, he comes over and plucks as bass string every time.

As Jimmy Durante used to say, "Everybody wants to get into the Act"
