Au Contraire, Beelzebub (Wiggins)
I believe that many of us on this list came to love Dixieland as
individuals. If we had required the approval of our peers and the mass
approval of music fans in general our love of this music would never
have lasted our lifetimes, the way it has. We must all have noticed that
we are a very small minority group.
On the other hand I think that many festival goers are different. They
have come to the music later in life after raising a family and having
listened to Rock and Roll, daily, with their children, they are looking
for an alternative. They enjoy the sights and sounds and entertainment
of live music, the dancing and partying, and aren't too concerned about
how rare the music is. I believe that this is a constant new source of
life for the music. The children are grown and on their own, the parents
have a void to fill and are free of some of their commitments.
As for joining your church (gasp) and sending you money (horrors), I am
sure it is a good cause. Why do I feel a slight bit hesitant? Are you
sure it is a good cause?
OK!! My check is in the mail. :))
