Thinking about Satch, these are three books, published recently, the first
of which is very ambassador-ish
--Satchmo Blows Up The World. Jazz Ambassadors Play the Cold War. Penny M.
Von Eschen (Harvard University Press, $29.95).
--Louis Armstrong and Paul Whiteman. Two Kings of Jazz. Joshua Berrett (Yale
University Press, $30.00).
--Satchmo. The Louis Armstrong Encyclopedia. Michael Meckna.(Greenwood
Press, $65.00). Cheers.
