I have tremendous admiration for Bechet. I'm especially fond of his
clarinet playing; in fact, I prefer him on that instrument.

What I like about Bechet on clarinet is that he brings that tremendous
vibrato back into the woody sound of the clarinet. We have a newbie (to OKOM) on
clarinet and his intonation is really pure and directly in tune. He evolved
to us via the symphonic/musical show route. We're trying to "degrade" him
back to the vibrato sound and I wonder if reed selection has a part in this or
is it just an embrouchure technique?
