So why is Sol there, burning up valuable air time? Does he own a
controlling interest in Charley O's? Is he a favored father-in-law?

Ya know, I was just wondering that myself...

Speaking as a semi-professional clarinetist (not really, I've only played two
paying gigs in my life!), I think I can tell that Mr. Yaged is...how do I put
this nicely...not up to the standard of the rest of the fellas in the
Nighthawks. It'd be one thing if Sol showed up one night, and then never showed up
again, but he's there every single evening and, frankly, he's not very good. He
just is a real downer in an otherwise hot broadcast, and I really don't see
the need to have him there all the time.

You're recording all these shows onto CD? Lucky you!

(PS: On tonight's broadcast, Vince said something about them getting a new PA
system, and they're still working the bugs out. Maybe that's why I couldn't
understand a word he said all night long!)
