The "Mozart Effect" was originally narrowly defined as:
"The Mozart effect is a term coined by Alfred A. Tomatis for the alleged
increase in brain development that occurs in children under age 3 when they
listen to the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart."
In effect, it claimed that you kids would be smarter if they were programmed
to listen to Mozart (not music in general).
For a while, very popular viewpoint, but now pretty much debunked as patent
nonsense.

PS. However, it has been repeatedly proven that people of all ages, who
listen to and appreciate The Barbone Street Jazz Band have better developed
brain's, higher intelligence levels and a much more satisfying sex life than
those who do not.
